The North Carolina Azalea Festival is the largest festival of its kind in the state and is celebrating its 70th year April 5-9. The festival features all that is Southern as Queen Azalea opens the festival with an official coronation. Azalea blooms take center stage during the Azalea Garden Tour and historic homes and beautiful architecture are on display for the Azalea Home Tour. Five days of entertainment include a street fair by the Cape Fear River, juried arts and craft shows, a fireworks display over the river, a 5k/10k run and fun walk, and concert headliners Cole Swindell, Duran Duran, and Jason Derulo April 6-8.
